10 Things I love which start with the letter ...

C

I stumbled upon this fun meme over at The Sacred Art of Living and asked to participate. I was given the letter C. So this is my list of 10 things I love which begin with the letter C:

Christ: The first and foremost of answers.

Clay: I love the squish of it between my toes, the give of it in my hands, and the graceful weave it plays out on a potter’s wheel. I haven’t much skill with clay but I hope given the time and the opportunity to learn the artful dance of it.

Children’s books: Okay, all books really, but I have a weakness for the way art and language come together in children’s books; ‘tis enChanting

Colours: I have never been very good at drawing a thing. I know I could be reasonable enough at it if I practiced and applied myself but I haven’t the discipline but I love colour so I paint. My efforts are limited not to mention my success at it but I love the colours. I love mixing the different hues together, slopping them on the canvas, smearing them, watching how they come together and like magic – change.

Crayons: an off-shoot of my love of colours is my love of crayons specifically Crayola (despite its mass consumerist face). The smell of crayons in the air – little else compares.

Constellations: That is my fancy way of saying “stars” (ala Charlotte). A bright night full sky of stars is the best medicine for a big bad case of “this self.” God’s backdrop ... what more can be said of that.

Creativity: A gift from the Master craftsman Himself, I love to create things. Whether it is made out of cloth or words or paint or paper, it doesn’t matter, a good idea, a good jolt of creativity is soul satisfying. The product doesn’t always emerge as great as I might envision but the doing for me is where I find myself happiest.

Collecting: I am a collector of books, words, images, cloth, and rocks. It is compulsive, it is irrational but I just can’t help myself.

Calm: Small ripples on water, near darkness, purple blue open sky, falling white snow calm.
Cross: The cross born by Him for me ... nothing can come close to that.

A wonderful list Krina! Thanks for posting. I love your graphic and your choice of constellations for the C list, I couldn't agree more.
